My name is Viva, nice to meet you here :) In June 2020, I took a beginner's wheel throwing class at a pottery studio and was hooked. I knew I had found my creative outlet amidst the chaos and the stillness of the pandemic shutdown. I created a small studio in my garage, bought a wheel and was gifted a kiln and have been making ceramics continuously; fine tuning and experimenting and challenging myself. I make small batch, one of a kind functional pieces to use and enjoy in daily life. My style is constantly growing and becoming. I am originally from Berkeley and Oakland, CA. I’ve been making a home in Portland since 2012. I am a Speech-Language Pathologist and I work at a children’s hospital outpatient rehab clinic when I’m not in my studio.
